At HDD Drilling Tools, we recently completed a drill bit modification for Niks Infra. The goal was to adapt an existing bit to specific HDD conditions, improving its fluid handling and cutting performance. This project is part of our broader service and repair offering for directional drilling tools.
A key modification was the addition of an extra nozzle to improve fluid flow and steering control. This feature was precision-machined using our CNC milling machine, allowing for greater accuracy in both drilling direction and fluid distribution. The added nozzle helps prevent clogging and improves the bit’s cutting efficiency in mixed ground conditions.
The worn teeth on the drill bit were removed and replaced with new, high-quality cutting elements. These ensure better ground penetration, reduced wear during drilling, and more consistent performance. Replacing teeth instead of the entire bit offers both economic and environmental benefits.
All work was done in our own workshop, where we combine CNC machining, welding, and tool assembly under one roof. This allows for full quality control and fast delivery. It also means we can respond quickly to urgent repair or modification requests — something our clients value highly.
